Book by OISE dean, alumnae wins Catalyst Award from Canadian Bureau for International Education

Glen Jones, dean of the 管家婆免费开奖大全鈥檚 Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, and OISE alumnae Merli Tamtik and Roopa Desai Trilokekar have received the Catalyst Award from for their book, International Education as Public Policy in Canada.

The award, one of the CBIE鈥檚 Excellence Awards, is given to an individual or group 鈥渇or bringing cutting-edge knowledge鈥 to the field of international education.

鈥淚鈥檓 particularly proud of the breadth of regional and theoretical expertise that our chapter authors brought to the volume,鈥 said Dean Jones. 鈥淚 am also extremely proud that our contributors included both very junior scholars who bring fresh ideas, as well as highly respected established scholars who have shared their expertise on these very complex policy issues.鈥

Published in 2020, the book provides a comprehensive analysis of international education policy in Canada, tracing the complex history of when, how, and why it emerged as a policy area of strategic importance. It examines the topic in three distinct sections: federal policy, provincial policy, and critical perspectives.
